Girls Teams Perform Well At Hazlet College Showcase
Congrats To Coaches Dennis, Dominic and Lee!

This past weekend (November 19th & 20th) saw three of our girls teams tackle a tough schedule down at the Hazlet College Showcase in Hazlet, NJ. All three teams had a great weekend and showcased their talents in front of many college coaches. Director of Coaching, Dennis Jackson said “it was a fantastic weekend of soccer for all three of the girls teams, I'm so happy that they produced some great soccer in front of so many coaches, they really made the club proud this weekend.”

The Jersey United 95/96G White bounced back from a losing weekend at Bethesda to complete a 3-0-0 weekend at the Hazlet showcase competing against teams one and two years older. Director of Coaching and Head Coach Dennis Jackson went on to say "It was so important the girls secured a win this weekend to help build their confidence, after the first win the girls went on strength to strength. Most importantly it was another opportunity for the girls to play in front of a strong amount of college coaches and they are still only sophomores" Goals were shared over the weekend with, Boykas, Bregna, Scarlet, Greco, Jurkovic and Unterkoefler all scoring. Assistant Coach John Killick added "The speed in which the girls improved in just a week was remarkable and they all deserve a big pat on the back for the tactical changes they were able to implement in just one week"

The Jersey Utd Spartans 94/95G WHITE started their Junior showcasing year by going 1-1-1 at the Hazlet college showcase in front of a number of NJ, PA and NY college coaches. With the emphasis of the tournament on showcasing not results the girls played with a new starting lineup each game and responded well by playing some attractive attacking soccer, the group received great feedback from opposing coaches and college officials about their willingness to play out of tight situations both offensively and defensively. The weekend also saw the return to action of defender Emily Beaman, Emily has been injured for the past two seasons but after a stellar high school season she stepped back out on the field and got right back into the swing of things. Coach Lee Pollard added "The girls worked hard after a long high school season to play some good possession soccer and impressed a lot of watching scouts. We need to continue this level of energy and willingness to showcase at our upcoming event, the NEWSS showcase in LI"

It was another undefeated and great weekend of soccer for the JU 94/95 Girls Blue. The girls are now undefeated in all six games played this season. Playing up an age group is always a challenge but the girls showed their quality and came out with the results they deserved. They totally dominated their first game against CFC U18's from CT; however, they only managed to win the game 1-0 by a goal from Kayla Birth. The second game against Long Valley U18 girls ended 4-1. Again the girls showed total dominance over the entire game but managed to win this game more convincingly with goals from Madison Flanagan, Kelsey Scarlett (2) and Mae Noonan. The final game against FC Delco Lightning ECNL was the most entertaining and most challenging of the weekend and produced the best performance. The game ended in a 2-2 tie, however Coach Rice was very proud of the team performance against the PAE State Cup Champions and national league team. Two very well worked goals scored by Mae Noonan and Cristina Estremera. Another very successful weekend at a well attended college showcase tournament. Coach Rice said, “I was extremely happy with the performances and I believe if we keep working hard we can continue to get good results.”
