On the concluding JAGS weekend both 98/99G Blue and 97/98G White finished victorious with the U14 white team beating local rivals Mt. Olive Premier 5-0 and the U13G Blue winning their JAGS bracket against NJX 1-0 who up until this weekend had the strongest record in the JAGS league.
Director of Coaching Dennis Jackson who coached both games went onto say. “It was two very easy games for me to coach both teams controlled the tempo, territory and possession from start of both games to the end. Recently our HS age teams have shown so well, not just with results but with college coach interest and it is fantastic to see we have two more teams coming up to their showcasing years soon who are going to be ready to continue the JU College Showcase success story”
“These teams are so talented and even though they may not be thinking about college it is our job to continuously move them forward year after year. Both teams today showed multiple reasons why they are moving forward. Our U14s who are very talented and carry a strong reputation for good soccer were just not moving the ball well but they were out working a well renowned organized athletic team. Our U13s were able to out play NXJ who are
one of the best passing teams in the age group.”
“Along with the clubs incredible college coach networking and exposure system it is important the players still get the job done on the field. Ultimately all our players need to be performing at a high level at U16 and up as it is ultimately the college coaches that make the final decision. All these players have a great long term future in the club and soccer as they becoming technically proficient and tactically astute”
The U14s will next travel to Tampa representing the CJ Spartans in the SYL national championships in a extremely buoyant, confident move. Good luck to the girls and congratulations to the U13s for winning their JAGS bracket!
