The Cosmos played a very good standard of soccer ending their first tournament together with a 1-2-1 record. The team became stronger with each game. The final game ended up being the determining match for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
The team started strong taking an early lead, but gave up an unfortunate own goal which gave the advantage to the opposition. After gaining composure, the team took the game back to the opposition, but conceded a second goal against the run of play. It was an uphill battle but the team continued to try for the second and tying goal without success. The game ended 2-1 in favor of the opposition and a third place finish.

Baltimore March Mania
The Jersey United Cosmos were crowned Champions of the U16 Championship flight this past weekend.
After starting the weekend off with two 1-1 ties against Empire United SA and Potomac SA, the Cosmos needed to win to secure a place in the final. An outstanding performance led to a 2-0 win against Freestate Eagles which pitted them against a very tough Freedom SC United who had scored 9 goals and only allowed 2 in the previous 3 games.
The team went all out against Freedom SC United and were able to capitalize on a penalty to take a 1-0 lead going in to halftime. "We came out firing on all cylinders in the second half and the opposition couldn’t touch us," said Head Coach Gary Foster. The Cosmos went on to score 2 more goals to secure a 3-0 victory and their first tournament championship. Congratulations to all of the Cosmos.
